hurray, starcraft is the first blizz game i ever played and they have been my fav pc dev ever since. there games are like digital crack.
the thing is the wii will be up against a wall soon, its not a next gen machine. the horsepower just isnt there. the reason its selling so good is cuz its more of a status thing now for some reason, its new and different... but once that newness wears of it will be nothing more than a "remember the wii? that WAS fun"
by the end of the year they will have the best games... for a second there i thought you were talking about the ps3... but then i realized there was no way since you said "the best games by the end of the year..." and well anyone with an iq greater than that of a small rodent would know that as far as 2007 is concerned the 360 stands on top...
then the ps3 will surely be a huge success considering it had a price cut in japan BEFORE it even launched...
because as the ps3 gets easier to program for and gets better dev tools so will the 360...
and as far as the elite... M$ have always had plans to add a bigger HDD... thats why it is removable... second they have said for a long time, even before the 360 launched, that when the market calls for HDMI they will give them HDMI. so really your comment is invalid.
umm... but see there is a difference there... okami may not have sold well but it still got great reviews... killzone didnt sell well and it got sh1t reviews... cuz it sucked...
maybe you told them to buy the wrong system then... maybe you bought the wrong system... that ever cross your mind? if both the 360 and ps3 are equal, which they are when it comes to gaming no matter what the fanboy inside you might say..., then it comes down to programmers to make the most out of what they are given, so if you take that into consideration its not hard to see why games are looking better on the easier to program for system. it will always be this way.
no matter what you will not be able to do stuff on the ps3 that you will be able to do on the PC. the cell is super stipped down for the ps3 thats why it is so cheap. the PC has fancy wiz-bang crap like out of order processing and what-not that the ps3 just can not do no matter how much coding time is spent on the cell.
p.s. the ps3 is not leaps and bounds above the 360 like many would like to belive... if one can do something the other surely can too. ps3 = 360 when it comes t...
i was at my local gamestop about a week ago to trade in an original xbox i found by my dumpster (still working) and while i was in line 2 people we trading in their ps3s (i think they were friends). i asked one of them why they were trading it in and he said "well it's nice and all but for the most part most of the games i want i can get on my 360 already, i bought this thinking i would use it a lot more than i have but when a game comes out i can't force myself to buy the ps3 version be...
once all this dust settles over optimal number of cores and 64 bit is the norm i'm gonna have to upgrade my computers again (haven't done any major upgrades since about 2001)... i have 4 desktops and 3 laptops... so expensive... sigh.

the ps3 uses 1 SPE ALL THE TIME and at anytime it must be allowed to take another if it chooses. thats about 12.5% of the cell's processing power used up ALL THE TIME and 25% when it steals another S...
@deep - where did you hear that the ps3 os only uses 5% of one spe? care to post a link? i have read from multiple sources one of which i linked in my first post that ps3's os uses one full spe AND all games need to be programmed to allow for the os to TAKE ANOTHER spe when it wishes. also you have your terminology wrong as well a SPU is only a part of an SPE. heres a link for that if you wish to educate yourself:
